Backstory

Bride

We met in the Biochemistry Department at UNILAG. During the holidays, we both came to school to check our results, and that’s when we started talking. We became really close friends 😊, and he was incredibly helpful with schoolwork, often tutoring me on Biochemistry courses because he’s really smart—he became my personal tutor (for free 😅). I knew I needed him in my life as a friend. We spent a lot of time together at school, building a genuine friendship that extended beyond the university. I was posted to Enugu State for my NYSC in the first batch (Batch A), and he also wanted to be posted there because of me. Luckily, he got also posted to Enugu in Batch B. However, he only stayed for a month to complete the Orientation Program before redeploying to Lagos 🛫. After spending a year and 4 months in Enugu, I eventually returned to Lagos, and few months after, we reconnected 🥰. About a year later, he asked me to be his girlfriend. I agreed because he had been such a good friend, and I believed he would be a great partner too. It’s been the best decision I ever made, and I’m so happy to be doing this with him for life 💍❤️—because I love my baby.

We were course mates in the Biochemistry Department at UNILAG and actually started talking in our second year (2016) 🎓. Our friendship was natural, and we always studied together 📚. We became best friends and have remained so for over 8 years now. She was in Batch A for NYSC in 2019 and was posted to Enugu State. I joined in Batch B and was also posted to Enugu , but I only stayed for a month to complete the Orientation Program before redeploying to Lagos 🛫. It took me 5 years to summon the courage to ask her to be my girlfriend in 2021 💖. Even after hours of overthinking 🤔, I couldn’t find the right approach or the perfect words to express what I had known all along—that she makes me the happiest, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. Now, I’m marrying my best friend and the love of my life 💍💕.
